Assistant Controller - Westborough

General Function: The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller as the accounting subject-matter expert and will oversee day-to-day accounting operations. The Assistant Controller will ensure the preparation and analysis of all financial reports meets the organization’s needs and complies with all applicable regulations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage accounting functions and processes related to AR, AP, GL, Fixed Assets, and monthly closing process
  • Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements for public company with international subsidiaries
  • Primary liaison with external auditors
  • Implement accounting processes for new product lines
  • Support operations with custom reporting from ERP system, as requested
  • Interpret and implement new accounting standards
  • Internal control compliance
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Margin, OPEX, and SG&A Analysis
  • Special projects in accounting as assigned
  • Work weekends and holidays as required to meet non-negotiable deadlines (month-end, year-end, etc.)

Job Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Business Administration with an accounting concentration
  • Master of Business Accounting degree or CPA designation required
  • A minimum of 10-years relevant accounting, cost accounting and supervisory experience demonstrating increasing responsibility
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel modeling and reporting skills
  • Excellent technical accounting skills
  • Ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks and changing priorities while meeting non-negotiable deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate at various levels within the organization
  • Able to work additional hours as required to meet deadlines

Application Engineer - Westborough

General Function: The Application Engineer is responsible for supporting internal/external customers and the company sales team on technical issues relating to Kopin Display products and assist with the development and documentation of existing, new products and technology demonstrations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deal with customer’s technical questions and issues through the pre and post sales process
  • Provide technical support to the Sales team to aid them in securing orders and sales
  • Facilitate a technical interface between the engineering / new product team and customers to help with definition and development of products
  • Write and maintain application notes, technical bulletins, data sheets and user manual documentation
  • Attend customer sites and exhibitions, both nationally and internationally, to provide technical support for the sales process
  • Accept ownership for incoming issues from receipt through resolution
  • Carry out electronic designs for demonstrators and reference designs
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Work with outside design houses on the specification, development, evaluation, and qualification of display related components such as driver ICs, backlights, flexes and lenses

Job Requirements:

  • BSEE minimum
  • 3 to 5 years technical customer support experience
  • Extensive, practical, hands-on electronics engineering experience ideally including PCBA design
  • Electronics design and debugging including use of ASICs and video
  • Motivated, self-directing team player with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with key internal, partner, and customer personnel
  • Experience dealing with demanding customers at both management and engineering levels Good oral and written English communication skills
  • Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Software Design Engineer - San Jose

General Function: The Software Design Engineer is responsible for designing and writing software code to support the audio technology group at Kopin’s San Jose location. The position works closely with algorithm development engineers, embedded software engineers, and field support engineers to satisfy their needs for the development of audio and voice products. The software design engineer position is responsible for developing PC applications and test software, as well as Smartphone phone App, speech recognition application client software.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop Android app for testing
  • Design and develop PC testing software
  • Design, develop speech recognition application software
  • Software evaluation and testing
  • Speech recognition software testing and evaluation

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS, EE or a relevant discipline.
  • Industrial experience in software development
  • Excellent communication skills in English speaking, reading and writing
  • Knowledge of and experience with Android App
  • Knowledge of and experience with GUI development

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of and experience with iOS App
  • Knowledge of and experience with audio technology
  • Knowledge of and experience with speech recognition technology
  • Knowledge of and experience with Bluetooth communication
