Job Description
Design photopic and imaging measurement systems using electrical an optical equipment and components.
Devices under test will be Micro-LCD, Linear Polarizers, LED, Waveguides, Collimation Films, Mirrors and Multi-Element Lens Systems.
This test engineer will integrate off-the-shelf optical/electronic equipment and in-house LCD firmware video/graphics drivers, into test system platforms using:
Optical amplifiers and Objective Silicon detectors, PMT photometers, Spectral radiometers, Imaging CCD, Multi element optics, FFT optics, Optical rail setups, Lambertian Spheres, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, DVM, Voltage and Current Power
supplies.
Technical knowledge in related areas of light physics is requisite:
Multi-element geometric lens design/ray tracing, collimation, color spectra, polarization/retardation, prismatic optics/films, thin film coatings, absorption/refraction/reflection, Liquid crystal birefringence, LED characteristics, Lasers, Optical
wave guide, CCD Imagery, and general optics apparatus.
Direct experience programming Labview with IEEE488 in a production line environment is essential.
Exposure to NTSC/VGA signal processing, VESA-FPDM2 and 6 sigma SPC, are all highly desirable.
Generate laboratory test procedures, calibration improvements, automate data collection and standardize data analysis into SPC reporting format.
Prepare technical analysis report (using Excel) from collected data for wafer process development, display production, and system application teams, in an efficient and timely manner. Assist in manufacturing engineering processes to monitor quality
and performance.
The proven successful candidate duties could also include; display systems optical modeling, thin film modeling, development of new thin film vendor materials, development new optical applications, all including experimental test validation.
Daily hands on and engaged feed back with the laboratory test teams is obligatory.
Work to be performed in dim lighted laboratory and/or cleanroom environment
Requirements
Education: B.S. Degree in Optics, or equivalent preferred.
Experience: 1-3 years Commercial Optics, Electronics and Test experience desired.
Nationality: US Citizenship required
Desired Personal Traits and Characteristics: Operator will be a self starter and motivated.
Work cohesively with co-workers, able to read, write and understand English fluently.
