Job Description
SPECIFIC DUTIES: - ESSENTIAL (employee MUST be able to execute): •Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities. •Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare and or modify project specifications. •Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clients & vendors. •Direct, review, and approve product design, configuration management and change control activities. •Assign, direct, evaluate the performance of subordinates (i.e. EE, ME, PE). •Oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence. •Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services. •Support the development of budgets, bids and contracts with our Government Contracts Sales Organization. •Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects. •Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures. •Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates. •Direct that appropriate work instructions, BOM's, routings are accurate and provided approval of the processes. Other Work to be Performed: •Majority of activity will be based in Taunton facility. Travel to suppliers & customers as required.
Requirements
DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS (minimal requirements): Education: Engineering discipline with extensive relevant experience configuration management. Experience: 5 years of Engineering Managerial over multiple disciplines, 5 - 7 years experience in Military Products Management. Technical Knowledge: ME, EE, Optics & Assembly experience. Desired Personal Traits and Characteristics: Well organized, diligent, and attentive to detail. Good written and oral communications skills.
