Job Description

SPECIFIC DUTIES: - ESSENTIAL (Employee MUST be able to execute): • Proposal writing in response to customer RFQ's as directed by Program Manager. • Management of R&D projects for government R&D labs. • Formal oral and written reports to customer(s). • Interim reports to customer(s) as dictated by progress or problems • Model of LCD performance - Use software modeling programs to predict proposed display design performance. - Model display fabrication details such as the effect of thin film layers on pixel transmission. • Evaluation and testing of LCD performance. - Specify and develop display testing facilities. - Develop test specifications. - Develop test reporting formats and spreadsheets. - Perform yield analyses to isolate failure causes and identify improvements needed. - Help to identify improvements required to meet produceability and performance goals. - Integrate test data into oral and written reports. • Enhancement of LCD performance - Assist in development of new production processes and LCD structure for improving LCD performance. OTHER WORK TO BE PERFORMED: • Other duties as assigned. • On-going communication with co-workers and engineers. EQUIPMENT AND/OR MACHINES TO BE USED: • Optical Microscopes • Electro-optical instruments • AMLCD photometric, colorimetric, optical properties measurement instruments • Other analytical tools used in the inspection and testing of displays and display fabrication materials. Requirements

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education: MS in EE and/or Electrical - Optical engineering; PhD preferred. Experience: 5 years experience in LCD and/or related IC processes. Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of LC, optics, electronic design and IC design issues. Desired Personal Traits: Self-starter who accepts a high degree of responsibility for achieving the best technical solutions.
