Job Description

SPECIFIC DUTIES - Essential (employee MUST be able to execute): • Develop, design, build or qualify electro-optical test & measurement systems for the advancement of Kopin AM-TFT Liquid Crystal Displays. • Work closely with laboratory technicians, planning and performing experiments, systems characterization and calibration, procedure writing and SPC data analysis and reporting. • Participate with manufacturing engineering toward optical performance improvement. • Be a contributing member of R&D team relating LC modeling, test structures and novel devices. • Assist marketing group with LCD customer performance specifications. • Qualify integration components: Polarizer, LED, Backlight, Lens, Driver Electronics and Assembly. OTHER WORK TO BE PERFORMED: • Other duties as assigned. EQUIPMENT and/or MACHINES to be USED by EMPLOYEE: • Optical Amplifiers • Silicon detectors • PMT - photometers • Spectro- radiometers • FFT optic angular analysis • Ellipsometer • LC Analyzer • LCD Gap Tester • Reflective film thickness monitor • Photometer lambertion calibrator • CCD Inspection Cameras • Oscilloscopes • DNN • Frequency Spectrum Analyzers WORKING CONDITIONS/EXPSOURES (environment): • Test Laboratory Environment under low light conditions. • Production line cleanroom may be required. JOB MEASUREMENTS: • Ability to follow written instructions and verbal communication. • Ability to work with other departments to complete assigned projects within the give time period. • Ability to judge results logically and work independently.


Requirements

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS: U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident required for Government Contract Work Education: BS Optics Electronics or Physics required. Experience: 1 - 3 year Electronics, Optics, or Engineering Test in production environment. Technical Knowledge: Lens design/waveguide collimation, color spectroscopy, prism/prismatic films, retardation films/birefringence, thin film coatings, LED E-O characteristics, lasers, CCD Imaging, digital and analog electronics, and general optics apparatus. Must be able to integrate the optical and electronics into test system platforms using: MS Windows based PC's, GPIB, RS232, Labview, Zemax, and C++ Desired Personal Traits: Motivated, self-starter. Strong interpersonal skills, team player, excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
