At Kopin, collaboration drives innovation. This quarter, we’re highlighting three strategic partnerships redefining what’s possible in defense, robotics, and first-person viewers (FPV).
Together with Theon International, Ondas Holdings, and Unusual Machines, Kopin is advancing a shared vision: to build technologies that enhance mission readiness, strengthen allied supply chains, and shape the future of situational awareness for the warfighter of tomorrow.
Theon International: A Transatlantic Alliance for Defense Innovation
Theon International’s $15 million strategic investment in Kopin marked a turning point in strengthening U.S.–European collaboration on microdisplay and optical system technologies.
In addition to the $15 million investment from THEON International the companies contemplate entering into a separately funded $8 million non-recurring engineering (NRE) agreement to co-develop a military-grade display.
As Theon CEO Christian Hadjiminas stated:
“The partnership between THEON and Kopin represents a true transatlantic alliance, driving innovation in the dismounted soldier system domain for today’s missions and tomorrow’s needs.”
This alliance establishes and expands joint development activities across NATO-aligned nations, accelerating innovation in Augmented Reality (AR), thermal imaging, and night vision systems.

Ondas Holdings: Autonomy, Robotics, and the Edge of Innovation
Ondas Holdings, a leader in autonomous aerial and ground robotics, joined Kopin’s latest $41 million private placement as a strategic investor, reinforcing shared commitment to U.S. defense modernization.
Eric Brock, Ondas CEO, emphasized the urgency of innovation:
“Every ounce of size, weight, and power matters. Kopin’s advanced optical display solutions deliver the performance and durability demanded by next-generation security systems.”
Through this partnership the companies are unlocking opportunities to co-develop integrated solutions that align tightly with long-term strategic roadmap goals.

Unusual Machines: Reviving FPV and Onshoring U.S. Manufacturing
A long-standing collaboration is taking flight again. Unusual Machines, known for its Fat Shark FPV headsets, invested in Kopin to help the commercialization of sovereign solutions for microdisplays and optical solutions for First Person Visualization (FPV) for Drones.
Allan Evans, CEO of Unusual Machines, shared:
“Unusual Machines is investing in Kopin to drive made in the USA production of next generation products with the intent of rekindling this partnership to onshore and scale FPV headset production.”
With Kopin’s display technologies powering FPV innovation, this partnership aims to strengthen American manufacturing and secure supply chains for first-person viewer systems.

Strategic Partnerships, Shared Mission
These collaborations underscore a common goal, building technologies that protect lives, empower operators, and sustain U.S.-made innovation.
By combining Kopin’s expertise in MicroLED and NeuralDisplay™ systems with our partners’ leadership in defense systems, robotics, and FPVs, we’re creating a connected ecosystem for the next generation of Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence-enabled platforms.
Together, we’re building for mission outcomes and ensuring that the future of vision systems remains in allied hands.
