AI Infrastructure

The trillion‑dollar bottleneck of AI: Connectivity and Power

Today’s GPUs rely on dense copper wiring to communicate with each other, often consuming tens of thousands of watts to maintain high-bandwidth data transfer. As AI workloads continue to scale, traditional data-center architectures are approaching their operational limits.

Optical Interconnects

Together Kopin and Fabric.AI expect to transform AI infrastructure with our MicroLED-based optical interconnect technology that redefines speed, efficiency, and scalability. By eliminating the need for copper wiring and lasers, our technology is designed to lay the groundwork for the next generation of smart data centers.

A New Approach to AI Infrastructure

High Bandwidth Communication

Optical interconnect technology repurposes programmable MicroLED pixels as ultra-high-speed optical transceivers capable of delivering large amounts of data at rapid speeds.

Low‑Latency Data Transfer

Traditional interconnects can’t deliver data quickly enough. Optical interconnects transfer data at rapid speeds, minimizing lag and bottlenecks.

Reduced Power Consumption

MicroLED based optical interconnect technology uses far less power to transfer data, lowering operating and cooling costs while still delivering top‑tier performance.

Scalable Architecture

The future of AI depends on scalable, high density compute architectures. But with workloads accelerating at an unprecedented pace, legacy data center designs are quickly hitting their limits. Optical interconnect technology delivers a sought-after solution.
