POSITION: Production Operator II
REPORTING TO: Director of Manufacturing
LOCATION: Westborough, MA.
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Assembly and inspection of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and the Display Module within completed Module assemblies. Includes sensitive Optics, Drive Electronics and Kopin’s LCD. Primary Operator conducting efficient change-overs of equipment according to written procedures. Record electronic
documentation of data throughout the manufacturing operations in accordance with Work Instructions and ISO Standards. Provide and seek continuous improvement suggestions on processes and equipment from other Operators. Able to perform basic set-up of product line equipment processes and/or end of line packaging.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary operator for multiple small parts assembly and inspection within manufacturing in a clean room
- Perform tasks under microscope using small hand tools and a dispenser
- Operate and perform change-overs on multiple pieces of manufacturing equipment
- Insure all containers (raw material and job lots) have Plex labels affixed to it
- Run/conduct miscellaneous duties such as operation of autoclave and polarizer, and conduct Quality in
process checks at the beginning of manufacturing runs - Properly label and place product into Finished Goods
- Conduct or have general knowledge of label making and reconciliation activities
- Able to understand and repair minor issues with manufacturing equipment
- Report all WO’s into ERP system
- Provide hands on assistance, under supervision, on equipment within production
- Load and unloading of automated assembly machines
- Complete documentation using computer
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- REQUIRED: Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. As a defense contractor Kopin is
subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and you must be a US Citizen or
Permanent Resident (green card holder) to be considered for this position. - Experience performing small parts assembly using hand tools and a microscope
- Inspection experience to include clean room and quality assurance experience
- Experience using microscope
- Must have manual dexterity and have a strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to comprehend workplace documentation and verbal instructions written/spoken in English,
motivated self-starter, good communication skills, ability to work as a team member
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to rotate from sitting to standing, stand and or sit for long periods of time and able to lift up to 20 pounds. Gown according to clean room protocol.
