POSITION: Senior Inspector – Incoming Quality Control (IQC)
REPORTING TO: Director of Quality
LOCATION: Westborough
GENERAL FUNCTION: Individual will be responsible for inspection and documentation of incoming material.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (All inclusive or a portion shall apply according to the assigned scope of responsibility and business unit.)

molded products

- Document inspection results in MRP system, inspection check sheets, and when needed Corrective
Action Request forms to send to the supplier - Support material handling (into and out of the inspection area for example), physical inventory, C of C documentation verification, and ISO9000 audits for their area
- Perform first article inspection on new components, including programming Keyence Optical
Comparator as needed - Perform other Inspection tasks as, with appropriate direction, such as printed wire board inspection
and cleaning or rework of piece parts - Support Engineering Reviews / MRBs and discussions with suppliers as needed
- Perform first article inspection on new components
- Ability to train and certify inspection personnel
- On-going communication with co-workers and engineers. Review/update as needed quality assurance work instructions, product specifications, and production schedules to optimize method of conducting inspections and tests, sequence of operations, and work assignments.
- Assure that test hardware supply meets production needs and is maintained and calibrated.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- REQUIRED: Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. As a defense contractor Kopin is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card holder) to be considered for this position.
- Minimum High School Diploma or 6 years equivalent experience or Associate Degree with 4 years equivalent experience
- Minimum 8+ years working experience in quality environment
- 5 years manufacturing experience to include clean room and quality assurance experience.
- Computer literate and familiar with MS-Office programs, Outlook/e-mail, Oracle data base and ISO 9001 procedures
- Strong drawing reading / GD&T skills
- Detailed experience with inspection techniques, tools, metrology and methodology
- Ability to perform First Article Inspection
- Must be able to demonstrate math skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced company environment
- Experience with ISO 9000 systems
- Ability to lead and document Root Cause and Corrective Actions using typical Industry tools (8D, Fault Trees, etc.)
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in Science, Math or Engineering related subjects
- ASQ certification
- Leads cross functional investigations of quality issues
- Ensures compliance and quality standards are upheld in department
- Able to solve product quality issues and assessing inspection protocols
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequently able to rotate from sitting to standing, lift up to 20 pounds, reach, bend, kneel, walk and gown according to clean room protocol
