Kopin Showcases Award-Winning AR, VR and Mobile Entertainment Wearables, New High-Brightness OLED Microdisplay at CES 2018

Kopin To Unveil its Latest CES Innovation Award-Winning Technologies at
Pepcom Digital Experience!, the Sands and In Private Demo Suite at CES

(NASDAQ:KOPN), a global pioneer in wearable AR and VR
technologies for government, enterprise, professional sports and
consumer markets, today announced that at CES 2018 it will demonstrate a
range of CES Innovation Award winning augmented reality, virtual reality
and mobile entertainment headsets incorporating Kopin’s industry-leading
components, technologies and designs.

“2018 will be a very exciting year for Kopin and represents the
culmination of years of development,” said Dr. John C.C. Fan, CEO of
Kopin. “At CES we will unveil a range of Innovation Award-winning
technologies and devices that will transform the worlds of AR, VR and
wearables. We invite everyone to experience our new generation Solos
Smart Glasses at our booth (Sands Expo #45031) and to visit our demo
suite to see our OLED microdisplays, Elf Reference Design and ‘Eagle’
home theater headset.”

To showcase the impressive capabilities of its Microdisplay solutions,
Kopin will demonstrate:

New Generation SOLOS® Smart Glasses for Cyclists and Runners: SOLOS
Smart Glasses is the ultra-lightweight smart eyewear aerodynamically
designed to improve the athlete’s performance in comfort and style. The
original SOLOS smart glasses for cyclists was a 2017 CES Innovation
Award Honoree. Building upon the original features for cyclists, Kopin
is showing this year the new generation of its SOLOS smart glasses which
enable cyclists and runners to leverage wearable sensors to provide
real-time progress updates such as elapsed time, speed, power, pace,
cadence, heart rate and more. Athletes can set targets and use the SOLOS
platform to track progress on those targets. Athletes can also listen to
music, view mobile notifications, receive audio and visual instructions,
make phone calls and control their glasses with voice commands. SOLOS
also provides an advanced group communication feature. Great for a group
training with friends, the feature allows coaches and athletes the
ability to communicate with each other during their performance,
extending a coach’s capabilities even further, allowing them to provide
cues to slow down, speed up or reach the next heart rate zone. More
information here.

High-Brightness Lightning OLED Microdisplay with 720p Resolution:
Kopin will demonstrate high-brightness Lightning™ organic light emitting
diodes (OLED) microdisplays including new 720p resolution (1280 x 720)
for mobile entertainment. Kopin’s Lightning 720p OLED microdisplay in a
0.49-inch diagonal size exhibits high brightness at more than 1000 nits
and has low power consumption. With good progress in partnerships with
Olightek and BOE for mass production of OLED displays, Kopin is readying
itself to lead high-volume OLED on Si display markets. More information here.

Elf VR Reference Design: 2018 CES Innovation Award Honoree – The
Elf VR reference design is the world’s most compact and lightweight
virtual reality headset that boasts stereo 4K resolution at 120Hz
refresh rate. Elf is made possible by Kopin’s Lightning™ OLED
microdisplays that boast an impressive pixel density of 2,940 PPI –
approximately 400% higher than conventional TFT-LCD, OLED and AMOLED
displays at 20% of the size. These industry-leading display capabilities
enables Elf VR reference design to eliminate the barriers and
limitations that have long stood in the way of delivering an effective
VR experience – uncomfortably bulky and heavy headset designs, the
annoying pixelated “screen-door effect” due to insufficient display
resolution, and frame rates that are too slow for fast action games,
movies or sports.

Kopin/Pico Interactive Co-Developed Mobile Home Theater Headset
(Codenamed “Eagle”):
A2018 CES Innovation Award Honoree,
Eagle from Pico Interactive is a lightweight mobile headset that fuses a
home theater entertainment experience with mobile viewing capabilities.
To make Eagle possible, Kopin created the concept design and supplied
optical modules to Pico including its Lightning™ 720p OLED microdisplay,
which delivers 1280 x 720 resolution in a 0.49-inch diagonal size. Kopin
is also taking an equity stake in a new subsidiary of Pico, Qingdao
Yueshi Technology Co. Ltd. Featuring over-ear noise cancelling Hi-Fi
headphones and a removable high-definition Kopin OLED display band,
Eagle provides a home theater viewing experience anywhere, while still
allowing the user’s peripheral vision. The OLED display band provides
the equivalent of an 80″ HD screen when viewed from 10ft away. When the
display isn’t needed users can detach it from the headphones and turn
Eagle into a very high-quality set of noise-cancelling headphones. More
information here.

Kopin will demonstrate Elf, SOLOS, Eagle, its new OLED Microdisplay, and
a range of other technology components and concepts, at CES January 9 –
12, 2018 in its demo suite. To schedule a private meeting, please
contact Kopin at events@kopin.com.

SOLOS will be on display and demonstrable in real-life cycling and
running scenarios at the SOLOS booth located at Sands, Halls A-D, Booth

Kopin will showcase and demonstrate Elf and SOLOS at Pepcom Digital
Experience! in the Mirage, the evening of Monday, January 8th,
