Quad-VGA 0.5” OLED Color Display

The Quad-VGA (QVGA) OLED display is a color-filter Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) on silicon with a 1280 x 960 pixel resolution. With a 0.5” diagonal size and 3256 ppi pixel density, it is one of the most compact high-resolution microdisplays available. With an integrated high-speed MIPI D-PHY interface that supports frame rates up to 120 Hz, this QVGA OLED is an ideal display for commercial, industrial, or rugged applications.

This display features Kopin’s patented backplane architecture for high-speed operation with low power consumption. The display provides a four-lane D-PHY v1.1, DSI-2 MIPI interface for low power consumption, providing frame rates up to 120-Hz at full resolution. Bi-directional horizontal and unidirectional vertical scanner circuits are integrated on the backplane. The display supports RGB 24-bit or YCbCr 16/24-bit video inputs with built-in color space conversion and gamma correction. A row blanking mode allows optimization for motion artifacts by providing an adjustable scanning duty cycle. One time programmable (OTP) memory allows for white balance and temperature calibration and, when combined with the integrated temperature sensor, supports dynamic gamma correction.
